Application Questions

--What is your character's name, race, class, and primary spec?

Bostonlager, Dark Iron Dwarf elemental shaman

--Please provide your profile link from of the character you're applying on. ... ostonlager

--How long have you been playing World of Warcraft?

I played briefly during TBC, and came back at the launch of BFA

--What is your real life age? (Under 18, 18-25, 25-30, 30+)

--What time zone do you live in?

Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time

--Do you have any other worthwhile 120's? (Name, Class, and Server) ... %B6paladin (holy)

--Do you predominantly (one or the other) activate spells and abilities using your keyboard/buttons on your mouse or by clicking the spells on the screen? Do you use your mouse or your keyboard (or a combination) to move?

I have all of my frequently used abilities bound to my keyboard or mouse, and use my mouse to click my 2/3 minute cooldowns. I use my keyboard to move forward / strafe and mouse to turn quickly

--What are your keybinds?

Lightning bolt - 1
Flame shock - 2
Lava burst - 3
Chain lightning - 4
Earth shock - 5
Earthquake - 6
Stormkeeper - 7
Healing surge - S1
Frost shock - S2
Static charge totem -S3
Icefury - S4
Purge - S5
Storm ele / essence - S6
Totem mastery - M4
Ghost wolf - M5
Decurse - SM1
Fireblood - G
Trinket - T

--What do you think the strengths and weaknesses of your class are?

Strengths: good mobility ranged DPS for soaks/movement, with quite a few instant cast procs for good uptime. Strong single target & aoe damage.
Weaknesses: Damage falls off on 2/3 target cleave when adds are not stacked, difficult to focus damage more adds. Ele shaman only has 1 defensive & not much mobility outside of ghost wolf, which I can't cast from.

--For your main spec, what is your rotation (and/or priority system)? If you're a healer, please explain what heals you use in what situations.

Opener: Precast stormkeeper/totem mastery, fireblood & prepot. Precast lava burst, lightningbolt (buffed) x2, Icefury, fire elemental & earth elemental, frostshock charges, lava burst as it procs, continue w/ rotation

Totem mastery & flameshock
Earthshock w/ MoE buff
lightning bolt w/ MoE & stormkeeper buff (Earthquake w/ MoE buff on aoe
Frost shock w/ Icefury & MoE buff
Lava burst
Frost shock w/ just icefury
lightning bolt
Frost shock during movement

--What is the level of your Heart of Azeroth neck?

--Describe your experience and ability with each of your specs.

I leveled as enhancement, do not know the spec at all at max level
I have healed normal/heroic raids and M+ as resto, but wouldn't be comfortable healing on a raid team
I am most comfortable with elemental in M+ and raid, and have played as elemental since hitting level 120

--Please provide an up-to-date picture of your UI (from a non-terrible site) here. List your hotkeys if they aren't easily viewable or a mod is preventing them from being viewed.

--What add-ons do you use? Please name the ones that are of particular interest to your class or raiding.

--Do you regularly investigate the details of your class and spec outside the game? If yes, what sites do you use and what do they offer you? If no, why do you not try to find out all the information you can about your class?

I visit the elemental shaman discord from time to time and brush up on when i am feeling rusty, but need to be better on looking up top elemental shaman logs.

--The only thing the raid leader should have to explain to an applicant is the actual guild's strategy on a certain boss fight. With that said, will you come to a progression raid having already watched videos on every boss fight you will be encountering and read any available information relevant to encounters?

Absolutely. It's utterly pointless to go into a mythic raid and have people who need the fight explained to them. I watch world first kills and different guild's strategies when progressing on a boss.

--Will you come to raids with full consumables and the best gems/enchants you can get?

Yes, i used to provide cauldrons and feasts to my previous guild and make pots for everyone when i get the proc potion.

Raiding Experience in World of Warcraft (At content level)

--Burning Crusade:none

--Wrath of the Lich King:none

--Mists of Pandaria:none

--Warlords of Draenor:none

I am a newer player, and the first raid I ever entered was Uldir. That being said, I was brought into Sakisquad by a friend, and really grew to understand and like the atmosphere of raiding. I was a gamble for the guild when i was brought in on mythic opulence, and ended up clearing 9/9 8/9M BoD, and 8/8 3/8M EP

--Please post a link to a recent Warcraftlogs report. This is a must-have. ... al&zone=20

--What guilds have you been in (name and server) and why did you leave (or plan on leaving)?

Everspree (proudmoore) was the first guild i ever joined as a brand new player, then was brought into Sakisquad (proudmoore) by a good friend. One of our healers was banned recently, and the guild had a falling out. A few of us who still want to actively play/raid have applied to Ouroboros, and i would like to stay with them.

I would like to add, I currently have a trial with Fury (proudmoore) If i want it, I have not decided yet. Playing the game with people who I enjoy being around is more important to me than just killing bosses. If i'm in a guild where I don't connect or enjoy being around the other players, then it is pointless to me.

--Why did you initially choose your character/class? What do you like most about it?

My first character was a shadow priest in uldir when they weren't very strong. I always Prefer RDPS, so made a shaman on a whim and ended up really liking the spec, and thinking the idea of harnessing the elements to throw huge meatballs at mobs was cool.

I like the mobility & utility of shaman, especially in m+, and i do pretty solid damage. Plus it feels good when we all get feared and someone says "Clutch tremor totem."

--Are you receptive to criticism?

Absolutely. If someone can share something with me to improve my dps/mechanics, whatever it may be, then I want to be better. I definitely don't know everything about this game, or even shaman, but welcome improvement in any way
